Brian Gille Architects, Ltd. is an architectural firm born in New Orleans, Louisiana. We began as Horchoff & Gille Architects in 1987 in uptown New Orleans and later became Brian Gille Architects, Ltd in 1997. Our office is now located in historic downtown New Orleans.
Brian Gille Architects, Ltd. has its roots firmly planted in the Deep South. Through both formal education and professional experience, we have provided our clients with indigenous designs along the historic Gulf Coast. Today, the firm remains true to these styles that are uniquely found in the South. The rich history of New Orleans continues to inspire and inform our designs, bringing with it the resilience and endurance that is embedded in our local culture. The opportunity to take the spirit that defines our city and make it into distinctively refined spaces is our contribution to the built environment – and to the place we call home.
Having spent a lifetime of summers on Georgian Bay, Brian Gille has also been influenced by the serene landscape and connection to the clear, cool Canadian waters. One can find an inner peace in these environs, escaping the stresses of city life and reconnecting with family. Whether on the mainland or on an island, in a cottage or down at the boathouse, the connection of inside to out is what we strive for in our designs. Our philosophy is that the architectural design should serve mainly to foster that connection to a place, one rich in a history uniquely its own. This approach brings into focus the similarities of two very diverse geographical locations where our work makes our clients and their guests feel welcome.
